One (1) N. veitchii (intermediate) BE-4087 SMALL
Photos are provided by Borneo Exotics and are representative. Plants may or may not currently have pitchers.
Details from BE: “This classic species has a spectacular wide peristome. There are both lowland and highland varieties, which are often markedly different in appearance. In general, the highland varieties have wider more colourful pitcher peristomes but all are hairy and charismatic. History: First introduced March 2019 through our wholesale auctions under BE-4051 as seed-grown plants, the last of which were auctioned in May 2021. In Nov 2021 this item was introduced from the same grex of seeds, but as assorted clones out of microprop.
Description: The female parent is the Bario form of N. veitchii, which is a highland variety and this particular parent has a green pitcher body with rust red peristome. The male parent is the Sungai Samba form of the species, which is a lowland variety and this particular parent also has a green pitcher body with rust red peristome.
This is the first time we have crossed a highland form of N. veitchii with a lowland form. We created this item because we expect these plants to be more temperature tolerant then either parent forms and therefore we have classified it as ‘intermediate’.
Since each plant we ship will be of a unique clone, we cannot be certain of the appearance, but given what we have seen so far and the fact that both parent plants have a similar coloration, we do expect the most, if not all plants shipped will have green pitcher bodies with either green or rust red peristomes.
The photos shown here are representative and may not be identical to plants shipped. ”
