One (1) N. singalana x hamata: BE-3900 LARGE
This beautiful cross is close in appearance to the male parent, Nepenthes diabolica. It’s also exceptionally vigorous under highland conditions, as opposed to Nepenthes diabolica, which is extremely challenging to grow.
The entire shape and colouration is completely different from crosses with Nepenthes singalana made using the related species Nepenthes hamata, which is understandable, considering how different Nepenthes diabolica is from Nepenthes hamata.
Origin: Horticultural, propagated by Borneo Exotics using cuttings taken from seed-grown specimen parent plants.
Source: A random selection from several different clones. The female parent is our best selected clone of N. singalana, and the male parent is a selected seed-grown plant of what used to be known as the ‘red hairy’ form of N. hamata. The male parent has since been described as Nepenthes diabolica, and is now a distinct species in its own right.
