One (1) N. singalana x lowii – assorted clones: BE-4080 LARGE
As this item matures in our nurseries, we’re seeing unusually pronounced bristles appearing on the underside of the lids, which are more robust than on most Nepenthes lowii hybrids. All clones we have seen so far resemble the photos here, with attractive colour gradients along the tendrils and also often a lovely contrasting splash of yellow on the undersides of the lids.
History: First introduced in Oct 2021.
Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics. The female parent is Nepenthes singalana, which is our clone #5, selected from a grex of seed-raised plants for its superlative colouration. The male parent is a seed-raised Nepenthes. lowii, with our Collection ID# 0410 and is the same specimen that has travelled around the world and been shown many times on exhibits such as the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court, Singapore Garden Festival, and has also been shown by Sir David Attenborough in several of his documentaries.
Source: A random selection from many different clones.
