N. villosa x veitchii ‘Gold Rush’ – striped peristomes: BE-4605 SMALL
We first introduced this great cross as a seed-grown item under BE-4016 in April 2020 and then in July 2021, it was released as assorted clones out of microprop as BE-4045. As so many different individual clones are involved in both releases, there are varying colourations. Most people make a distinction between those with uniform coloured, or ‘solid’ peristomes and those with peristomes which have varying degrees of stripes to them. Ideally, we would separate the two types at the lab level and release them, but that process takes several years – we’re on it! In the meantime, we’ve hand-selected plants in the nursery for either uniform peristomes or striped peristomes and are releasing them under two new BE codes. This is the striped version, designated as BE-4605, and the uniform version is BE-4606.
Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics from specimen parent plants.
Photo notes: Photos are of representative clones and may not be identical to plants shipped.
