One (1) Nepenthes gracilis – selected clone: BE-4611 SMALL

This is probably the most tolerant and easy-to-grow of all the lowland species. Unlike some lowland species, the leaves can become very tough, as they thrive in high light levels. In its natural habitat, it often grows in exposed places, sometimes in full sun. It scrambles around and, being diminutive, can complement other plants in a collection without overwhelming them. Although lowland, it’s easily grown in intermediate conditions, with relatively low humidity and is therefore a good beginner’s plant, especially for terrariums with limited space. It can vine to enormous lengths if left unchecked, but if regularly cut back, it will rosette and form attractive compact plants with many basal pitchers.

This is of a single clone, selected as the best from the assorted clones formerly sold under BE-4060.

Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics.

Source: From a single carefully selected clone out of microprop.

Photo notes: Plants shipped are of the same clone as shown in these photos.

Climate: Lowland

Ships bareroot. Roots will be wrapped in sphagnum moss, but you will need to provide your own pot and more potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity. Check out this video that I helped write for the ICPS on “How to acclimate your carnivorous plants.”
