One (1) N. hamata – Lumut x Tambusisi: BE-4044 MEDIUM

Photo(s) are provided by Borneo Exotics and are representative.  Plants may or may not currently have pitchers.

This item is as vigorous as the Tambusisi form and at least as good-looking as the Lumut form. We think this is our best Nepenthes hamata creation ever!

In July 2023 we added new photos to include the upper pitcher, which can be seen to be very similar in appearance to the ‘Lumut’ hamata form and not at all like the inferior upper pitchers shown by the ‘Tambusisi’ hamata.

History: First introduced through our wholesale auctions in Feb 2021.

Description: The female parent is a selected seed-grown specimen of the exceptionally vigorous Tambusisi form. The male parent is the extremely beautiful Lumut form sold under BE-3380. For many years, we believed the Lumut form to be the most vigorous form of the species we had seen, but recently we have revised that opinion, as we find the more recently introduced Tambusisi form to be even easier than the Lumut form. At the time of writing (Jan 2021) we feel that this new cross between the Lumut and Tambusisi forms may be the most vigorous form of the species on the market today.

The photos shown here are representative and may not be identical to any of the plants shipped but so far, we have seen very little variability, so these photos are probably good representations.

Source: Random selection from a huge number of different clones out of microprop.

Climate: Highland”

Ships bareroot. Roots will be wrapped in sphagnum moss, but you will need to provide your own pot and more potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity. Check out this video that I helped write for the ICPS on “How to acclimate your carnivorous plants.”
