One (1) N. lavicola – assorted clones: BE-4637 SMALL

Photo(s) are provided by Borneo Exotics and are representative.  Plants may or may not currently have pitchers.

This Sumatran species is critically endangered in the wild according IUCN Red List and we are therefore very happy to be able to introduce it to cultivation from an entirely sustainable source. Although these plants are derived from tissue culture, there are a large number of clones involved and so a high probability that some of them will be male and others female.

It’s technically an ultra-highland species, being recorded from between 2,000 and 2,600m altitude ( about 6,500’ – 8,500’) but we are finding it grows very well at warmer temperatures in our normal highland facility, which has temperature ranges of between about 13 deg. C at night up to 25 deg. C (or a little higher) in the daytime.

History:  First introduced in Sept 2024

Origin: Horticultural.

Source: A random selection from a large number of different clones.

Photo notes: Photos are of representative clones and may not be identical to plants shipped.

Climate: Highland”

Ships bareroot. Roots will be wrapped in sphagnum moss, but you will need to provide your own pot and more potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity. Check out this video that I helped write for the ICPS on “How to acclimate your carnivorous plants.”
