One (1) Nepenthes lowii x tentaculata – from cuttings: BE-3970 LARGE

This is a true natural hybrid propagated only from cuttings taken from the original nursery mother stock. The female parent is a Gng. Trus Madi form of N. lowii and the male parent is a N. tentaculata, also from Gng. Trus Madi. This natural hybrid is rarely observed in the wild. It has taken us decades to grow these plants up to the point where we can sustainably produce from cuttings, and we are proud to have persevered and reached this point. We think this is a wonderful hybrid!

It’s important to note that these plants are mostly propagated from tip cuttings and therefore produce intermediate or upper pitchers from the outset. This is intentional, as the upper pitchers show the most interesting characteristics, with the flare of N. lowii and also hairs and sometimes nectar secretions are clearly visible under the lid.

Climate: Highland

Ships bareroot. Roots will be wrapped in sphagnum moss, but you will need to provide your own pot and more potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity. Check out this video that I helped write for the ICPS on “How to acclimate your carnivorous plants.”
