One (1) N. sibuyanensis x merrilliana BE-3542 LARGE

This is a stunning hybrid which can be grown by most people. It has enormous tough waxy pitchers that immediately draw the eye and admiration of any visitor to our nurseries. Being an intermediate grower, it’s tolerant of a wide range of temperatures.

This item differs from BE-4026 in that this is a random selection from very many clones from a different grex of seed to BE-4026, which are a selection from only two similar-looking clones.

In Aug 2020 two clones were segregated from this item and marketed separately under BE-4026 because they were very similar in appearance to one another, while this item is more variable due to the fact that it’s a random selection from a huge number of different clones. However, for those who prefer the fun of the variability, this item remains hugely popular. It still includes both of the clones that comprise BE-4026 and it may also include clones that could be even more spectacular than the ones we selected for BE-4026.

History:  First introduced in March 2013.

Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics. The female parent is N. sibuyanensis selected for its orange colouration from the assorted clones sold under BE-3164, and the male parent is the huge Mt. Legaspi form of N. merrilliana, selected from amongst the assorted clones sold in the past under BE-3727.

Source: A random selection from a huge number of different clones.

Photo notes: Photos are of representative clones and may not be identical to plants shipped.

Climate: Intermediate

Ships bareroot. Roots will be wrapped in sphagnum moss, but you will need to provide your own pot and more potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity.
