One (1) N. spathulata x hamata – assorted clones: BE-3712 LARGE

Photo(s) are provided by Borneo Exotics and are representative.  Plants may or may not currently have pitchers.

Affectionately known as “Nepenthes spamata”, this cross has been made several times in our nurseries using two different forms of N. hamata parents and with a lot of variability within each grex of seeds. This item varies from BE-3843 in that the N. hamata parent is the Gng. Lumut form of the species, whereas BE-3843 uses a N. hamata originating from Gng. Tambusisi.

History:  First introduced in Sept 2016.

Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics. The female parent is our clone #3 of N. spathulata, with collection ID 0441, selected from amongst those sold under BE-3174. The male parent is clone #1 of our Lumut form of N. hamata, with collection ID 1552, selected from amongst the two clones sold under BE-3380.

Source: A random selection from a large number of different clones.

Photo notes: Photos are of representative clones and may not be identical to plants shipped.

Climate: Highland”

Ships bareroot. Roots will be wrapped in sphagnum moss, but you will need to provide your own pot and more potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity. Check out this video that I helped write for the ICPS on “How to acclimate your carnivorous plants.”
