One (1) N. spectabilis x klossii – assorted clones: BE-4648 LARGE
Photo(s) are provided by Borneo Exotics and are representative. Plants may or may not currently have pitchers.
“Nepenthes klossii is a highly distinctive species, with its domed back to the pitcher, forward-facing mouth and large hirsute pitchers.
So far as we know, this is the first and still the only confirmed true example of the species in cultivation and we are proud to have been able to introduce it from a sustainable source in 2012. We still haven’t flowered this particular clone, so as yet we don’t know whether it’s male or female. In 2025 BE will be introducing other clones in the hope that there will then be both males and females in cultivation and that seed can be produced horticulturally, which is an essential step towards preserving the genetic diversity of this endangered species in cultivation.
The clone offered here is undoubtedly true to type, with no evidence of introgression with the sympatric Nepenthes maxima. The nursery photos shown here are of this exact clone.
History: First introduced in 2012.
Origin: Horticultural.

Photo notes: Plants shipped are of the same clone as shown in these photos.
Climate: Intermediate highland”
