One (1) N. truncata – Singapore Botanic Gardens: BE-4001 MEDIUM
A hugely impressive species that never fails to attract admirers, with its broad heart-shaped leaves and tough enormous pitchers. It’s a reliable grower, being adaptable to a range of conditions. This is probably a lowland or intermediate form, producing large and extremely robust woody pitchers.
Source: This particular item was donated in-vitro by Singapore Botanic gardens, hence ‘SBG’ in the title. Nothing else is known about its provenance. We had assumed that it was most likely a lowland form, but it grows well for us in our highland nurseries, so we have since designated it as an intermediate grower.
Climate: ‘Intermediate’, which means it will flourish in a wide range of temperatures. We have tested it from 12 – 32 deg. C (54 – 90 deg. F), although it will tolerate temperatures outside this range.
