N. ‘trusmadiensis’ x burbidgeae–assorted clones BE-4054 MEDIUM

We love making hybrids that are either recorded from the wild as natural hybrids or will have probably existed as natural hybrids at some point in the past. This is a good example of the latter, because all three component species can be found on two adjacent mountains in Sabah, so it’s almost certain that at some point in the past several million years, that this cross existed naturally in the wild.

The female parent is N x ‘trusmadiensis’ = N. macrophylla x lowii, which was raised from seed in our nurseries and the male parent is a seed-grown N. burbidgeae with our Collection ID# 0749.

The difference between this item and BE-4545 and BE-4561 is that they are indvidual selected clones, whereas this item is a mixture from a really huge number of different clones and are exhibiting extreme variability as the photos show.

History: First introduced through the wholesale auctions in April 2021.

Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics from seed-raised parent plants.

Source: A random selectoin from a huge number f different clones out of microprop.

Photo notes: The photos shown here are representative and may not be identical to plants shipped.

Climate: Highland

Ships bareroot. You will need to provide your own pot and more potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity initially. Check out this video that I helped write for the ICPS on “How to acclimate your carnivorous plants.” To see the size and quality of our imports watch this video.
