One (1) Nepenthes peltata BE-4613 LARGE

This easy to grow species is characterised by a peltate tendril attachment and conspicuous indumentum in mature specimens. The pitcher shape seems rather variable but is still not well recorded in habitat and rare in cultivation. From a single carefully selected clone out of microprop. “Nepenthes peltata is endemic to Mindanao in the Philippines, where it grows at altitudes between about 800 and 1,600 m making it a temperature tolerant intermediate grower. As the name implies, the tendril insertion into the leaf is peltate, emerging before the tip of the leaf. It’s quite variable in form, but is always colorful and often has leaves with a red underside. Pitchers can become quite large, as the photos show.

This is a single clone selected from amongst those sold as assorted sold under BE-4025, which vary considerably in shape between individuals. This clone might well be the largest of them.

Origin: Horticultural, bred by Borneo Exotics.

Ships bareroot. You will need to provide your own pot and Potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity. Check out this video that I helped write for the ICPS on “How to acclimate your carnivorous plants.”
