One (1) N. mirabilis var. echinostoma – selected clone BE-3363 MEDIUM

Photo(s) are provided by Borneo Exotics and are representative.  Plants may or may not currently have pitchers.

Description: “Selected as the best of 24 clones for it’s outstanding coloration, this exceptional clone has a deep purple pitcher body, only rarely observed in the wild. A most extreme form of the species. The pitchers have a unique box shaped cross-section and the peristome on mature specimens has many upraised ribs.

This item is from an entirely different grex of seeds to the clone sometimes sold under BE-3372 and although we have yet to grow it to maturity, we suspect it may turn out to be similar to the first two photos in the series shown here, which are of clone #3 from the grex, whereas this item is clone #1.
History: First introduced around 2001 as nursery-grown plants on our old PDF price list, after we closed our lowland nurseries in 2012, it became unavailable for over ten years until it was added to the online shop in Aug 2022.”
Ships bareroot. Roots will be wrapped in sphagnum moss, but you will need to provide your own pot and more potting substrate when the plant arrives. Extra care will be needed as the pre-order plants will need to be acclimated slowly to your conditions. This means low light and high humidity. Check out this video that I helped write for the ICPS on “How to acclimate your carnivorous plants.”
