One (1) N. bicalcarata – Brunei Red Flush: BE-3031 SMALL
New to growing Nepenthes bicalcarata? Check out an article I wrote on their care here.
Photos are provided by Borneo Exotics and are representative. Plants may or may not currently have pitchers.
Details from BE: “The ‘fanged’ pitcher plant. This swamp-dwelling species is one of the strangest having two thorns projecting down from the top of the peristome. Grows alongside N. ampullaria in the wild and likes hot humid conditions. History: First introduced around 2008 as nursery-grown plants on our old PDF price list, after we closed our lowland nurseries in 2012, it became unavailable for 5 years. Between Sept 2017 and March 2018, a total of only 155 plants were sold on the wholesale auctions, which is the last time nursery grown plants were available until April 2021, when a very limited quantity were offered on the wholesale auctions. It was added to our online shop for the first time in Dec 2021.
Description: This is the best clone from an original selection of 24 clones produced from parent plants that were themselves raised from seed in our nurseries. The lower pitchers differ from the other Brunei form we offer in that this item has a red flush on an orange background.”
